Silver City hosts a variety of attractions that draw locals and visitors alike. Each spring, a world-class 5 stage bicycle race, The Tour of the Gila, has brought athletes such as Lance Armstrong to our community. The Mimbres Region Arts Council, New Mexico's top ranked arts council, makes it's home in Grant County and hosts The acclaimed Silver City Blues Fest each Memorial Weekend . These free spectator events bring huge enthusiastic crowds to our community.In early summer,the Wild Wild West Pro Rodeo and the Chamber of Commerce sponsored Cowboy Days in Gough Park are held, followed by the July 4th Celebration with a parade and festivities in Gough Park. In October, over 30 art galleries and businesses showcase local artist's works during the annual Weekend at the Galleries.
Fine edibles are featured at the yearly Chocolate Fantasia and the Saturday morning Farmer’s Market held each May through October.
Year-round, visitors can enjoy the Silver City Museum and the WNMU Museum. Hikers, birders, and nature-lovers can explore the vast Gila National Forest and Wilderness just outside of town.
